Some works are not created with a clear intention in mind, but rather out of trust in the creative process. “Melodie Natalis” was created exactly that way.
I have to admit something to you…
Originally, this painting wasn’t intended to be a standalone work at all. It was simply meant to let me experiment with brushes, materials, and various shades of blue and green. But as I was painting, something unexpected began to emerge: the colors seemed to come together on their own, shapes took shape, and a lively, almost musical rhythm emerged. At that moment, I realized that the painting was already telling its own story.
The title “Melodie Natalis” combines the idea of a melody with the Latin word *natalis* —birth. It refers to the moment when something new begins to resonate within us: a sensation, an inner transformation, or a quiet realization that gradually unfolds. Subtle contrasts of turquoise, teal, peach, orange, and rosé evoke the shimmering light of a crystal-clear mountain lake. Like a quiet melody, the colors blend into one another, creating a space full of lightness, harmony, and light.
The delicate oleander leaf symbolizes the beauty of sensitivity and serves as a reminder that tenderness and strength are not opposites. True inner strength is often revealed precisely in the ability to perceive the subtle nuances of life, to remain open, and to allow oneself to be moved by the beauty of the world.
